Australian Dance Review

In December the over 200 students from the studio danced for their medal examinations with the Australian Dancing Society. While the majority of the students gained Highly Commended Passes it was especially pleasing to see a number of the students gaining honours passes. Congratulations to all the students.

We had almost 400 people attend the Presentation Cabaret night at the Parramatta Town Hall on Sunday 20th December, on the night one of our long time students, Elyse Kersaitis danced for her Oscar medal award which is the highest medal level you can achieve, she danced beautifully and was rewarded with a honours result from the examiner appointed by the Australian Dancing Society to access her dancing. On the night our Junior Progressive Team from the Tuesday classes performed for the first time together and the Saturday Jazz Ballet Performance Troupe also performed a Christmas number to entertain everyone. Santa made an appearance with gifts for all the children in attendance and everyone had a great time.

The following students were successful in being presented with one of our Annual Awards -

Liana Tedesco; Naomi Mouselis; Bella Whitlock; Casandra Setches; Monika Gluchowska; Hannah Hamilton; Alison Spiteri; Piper Newton; Isabella Losco; Maddi Burton; Emma Cole; Lauren Boyd; Charlotte Vanderlinde; Thalia Reynolds Hunt; Jodie Rodriguez; Nathan Burland; Rawindu Kahawita; Blake Williams; Jacinta Mailei; Jonathan Espinas & Hannah Hayes; Charmaine Udan; Erin Bortuluzzi; Michelle Sismey; Olivia Lesniak; Natalie Hindle; Lauren Ward; Andrea Kozera; Jacob Boffa; Clarke Udan & Maeve Jeffries; Siobhan Hayes; Clyde Gonsalvez; Anna Garcia; Elise Morley. Congratulations to them all.

By far the most coveted award of the year is the Dancer of the Year Perpetual Trophy this year this went to Alison Spiteri. Alison has been with the studio for a number of years and was extremely proud and delighted to be selected as the Dancer of the Year for 2009.

We are delighted to welcome a new teacher and style at the studio in 2010, Carla Morgan is joining our team and will be teaching Hip Hop, Krump, Break Dance, Popping, Locking, Dance Hall, Lyrical Hip Hop & Booty Dance on Wednesday nights. We are sure everyone who attends will enjoy her classes.
